Travel Tips for Cappadocia and Central Anatolia

The highlight of the region is Cappadocia. It attracts about one million tourist each year. Major historic sites can be seen in 2-3 days. Even this will be a fast paced tour. There are also other activities you can enjoy such as trekking, biking, horseriding, and during summer ballooning., while enjoying the scenery.

Urgup and Goreme are the best places to stay in the region. If you have a car, Uchisar is also a good choice. There are some special type accomodations in the region, in Special Category hotels. The only 5 star hotel is Dedeman located in Nevsehir, and there are a few good 4 star hotels in the region.

Major sights in Ankara can be seen in one day.

Konya can be seen in one day. Whirling Dervish Ceremonies take place in mid-December. There are also other Sema (Whirling Dervishes) events taking place in Istanbul and some other places in Turkey year around.

Ihlara valley is worth visiting for a day, and especially refreshing on a hot day.

You can see Caravanserails along the road. For example Agzikarahan is a well preserved one !

Don't forget to taste the wines of the region. They are getting more and more famous !

Sunset is wonderful at some places on earth. The valley of fairy chimneys in Urgup is one of them. Don't forget to be there.
