Twarp.com ("we", "our", or "us") operates a travel information website about Turkey. We have been serving travelers since 1995. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What data we collect

We collect only the minimum data needed to operate the site and respond to your inquiries:

Newsletter subscription	Your email address. We also record the date, the page you subscribed from, your IP address, and your browser user-agent for spam prevention.
Feedback form	Your name (optional), email address, the type of feedback, your message, the page URL you were viewing, and your IP address.
Server logs	Our hosting provider and edge proxy may log standard request data (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user-agent, referrer) for security and performance monitoring. These logs are retained for a limited period and not sold or shared with third parties.
Cookies	We use a single first-party session cookie to protect our forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). It contains a random token and no personal data. It expires when you close your browser. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.

We do not collect: your real name (unless you provide it in the feedback form), physical address, phone number, payment information, or any data from third-party trackers. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

How we use your data

Email subscriptions: To send you the Turkey Travel Checklist PDF you requested and occasional travel-related emails. You can unsubscribe at any time (see below).
Feedback: To read and respond to your message. We send an auto-reply to confirm receipt and may follow up if a reply is needed.
Spam prevention: IP addresses and user-agents are used solely to rate-limit form submissions and block automated abuse. They are not used for profiling or tracking.
Site improvement: We may review feedback messages to identify and fix content errors or improve our travel guides.

Who has access

Your data is stored on our own server. Access is limited to:

The site owner (Mehmet Kurtkaya), who manages the server and database.
Our email service provider, who transmits newsletter and reply emails on our behalf. They process email in transit but do not store your data for their own purposes.

We do not share your email address or any other personal data with hotels, travel agencies, advertisers, or any other third party. The old practice of forwarding form data to travel suppliers has been discontinued.

How long we keep your data

Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, we keep your email marked as unsubscribed to prevent accidental re-subscription, but we stop sending you emails.
Feedback messages: Retained indefinitely as a record of correspondence. You can request deletion at any time.
Server logs: Retained for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.

Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: You can ask us what data we hold about you.
Correction: You can ask us to fix inaccurate data.
Deletion: You can ask us to delete your data, subject to legitimate record-keeping needs.
Unsubscribe: You can stop receiving newsletter emails at any time by visiting /unsubscribe or by replying to any email we send you.
Withdraw consent: You can ask us to stop processing your data for direct marketing.

To exercise any of these rights, use our feedback form with the subject line "Privacy Request". We respond within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email before the change takes effect.
