The cruise does not involve any substantial open sea cruise as you would expect in other parts of the world. It is an outdoor event which combines the sea, the forest, the nature, history, the people and the food. You will also have time to enjoy the small and large coastal towns.
The boat cruises on engine (very rarely set sails) and cruising time is usually limited to 2–3 hours per day. The boat cruises very close to the shore and most of the time in bays or coves, so the ride is almost always smooth. The waves rarely cause any discomfort, and in the unlikely event that it does, it is usually limited to a short distance.
For those who would like to sail, we suggest chartering an entire private crewed gulet or bareboat.
The boat usually moors overnight in tiny coves about 20–30 metres (60–90 feet) from the shore, where pine trees meet the sea. Two or three nights are spent docked in the marina of a coastal town. On those nights you can go shopping, dine at restaurants or enjoy the nightlife at a bar or disco.
During the cruise you will have plenty of time to enjoy the unique scenery, swim in the turquoise waters, sunbathe, roam around with the dinghy attached to the boat or go to the shore, which is only about 20–30 metres from the boat, and trek in the nature or, if there are historic ruins around, tour the ruins, do water sports (additional fee) such as water ski, jet ski, banana ride, or visit coastal towns.
There is no reported case of shark attack in the entire history of the country and this will make your swimming experience in the warm turquoise waters a safe one too.
Whether it is a private charter tour or a cabin charter tour, Blue Cruise is always a fascinating experience. If you are on a private tour you can shape your course of voyage as you wish before booking. Usually the daily duration of cruising is not longer than 3–4 hours, and the rest of the day can be spent in a gorgeous cove enjoying the sun and the sea. Sunbathing on the deck, swimming in clear waters, snorkeling, windsurfing, waterskiing or just fishing.
You can also anchor in a cove and trek in the wild nature, visit a nearby village and come closer to the native people and their traditions, or visit one of the numerous ancient sites. Here, in the midst of the idyll, you can feel the touch of nature and history.
You can spend all of your time on board the gulet if you like. The captain and the crew are continuously at your disposal in an effort to provide you with all your needs. The cook pampers you during the whole voyage with specialities and samples of the delicious Turkish cuisine, of which you surely will be a fan at the end of the voyage. The delicate Turkish wine and raki (the national alcoholic drink) contribute to this delight.
Cabin charter programs are designed with the same principles. The durations of the daily cruises are aimed to be as short as possible, letting the passenger have enough free time to spend as they wish. That is why, as a rule, longer distances are cruised, but your captain is ready to set the sails whenever a suitable wind blows. In short, life on board a gulet is more colourful, as well as more relaxing, than on land.
