Kuzguncuk is a historic neighbourhood on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus, within the Üsküdar district of Istanbul. Known for its narrow streets, colourful wooden houses, and peaceful atmosphere, it has long been home to a mix of Turkish, Greek, Jewish and Armenian communities.
The neighbourhood is especially known for its traditional taverns (meyhanes) serving rakı and meze, and its seaside promenade offers a quiet escape from the busier parts of the city. Historic houses, small synagogues, churches and a mosque stand side by side, reflecting the area's multicultural past.
Kuzguncuk can be reached on foot from central Üsküdar in about 20 minutes, or by a short bus ride. It is a popular spot for a relaxed afternoon walk, photography, and dinner by the water.
