Blue Cruise is a unique cruising and yachting experience — an adventure that takes you to the magic of myths three millennia old, a relaxing vacation under the sun, and a swim in the turquoise blue of the crystal clear waters. It is also an opportunity to taste Turkish cuisine cooked with fresh vegetables and local produce.
In recent years, many deluxe charter yachts have been built in Turkey. The new gulets and motor yachts offer many amenities of a hotel room, including larger cabin space than traditional boats.
Most gulet charters depart from Marmaris, Göcek, Fethiye, Bodrum, and Antalya. Each offers a unique cruising experience:
Turkey's gulet fleet ranges from traditional wooden boats to luxury motor yachts.
Note: Gulets can also be booked through specialized yacht charter agencies. Search for "gulet charter Turkey" or consult with your hotel concierge for local recommendations.
A typical day on a Turkish gulet: Wake up in a secluded bay, swim in crystal clear water, enjoy a Turkish breakfast on deck, sail to the next destination, swim or hike, feast on fresh grilled fish or meat for lunch, afternoon relaxation, and sunset drinks. Most gulets have en-suite cabins, air conditioning, and professional crews including a captain, cook, and deckhands.
Meals are typically included in the charter price. Beverages are usually extra (you can bring your own or buy from the boat's bar). Many gulets allow you to customize the itinerary based on your interests — more swimming, more ancient ruins, or more lively harbors.
Life on a gulet is informal and relaxed. There is no strict dress code — swimsuits and cover-ups are acceptable during the day, casual wear for dinner. The crew lives on board and serves meals in the common area. Many gulets have sunbathing mats on the bow or the aft deck, and some have kayaks, paddleboards, or snorkeling gear.
Evenings are spent at anchor in a quiet bay or in a small harbor. If you choose a harbor stop, you can walk to seaside restaurants, bars, and shops. Some itineraries include stops at ancient ruins like Kaunos, Simena, or Phaselis.
